figs on the shelf

Yesterday evening I stepped into Kim's Family Farm on Fifth in Park Slope to look for marscapone and berries to go with my Perch chocolate cake. At the edge of the expertly cleansed produce-chopped & packed- was a display of figs.

A bargain at 2.99 per container- they looked much healthier than those of the super markets. Figs season is something I anticipate- similar to the excitement that come with Brooklyn's Restaurant Week.

With my figs:

Breakfast: Slice, drop into plain Greek yogurt.

To share: Slice, add to a thin crust w/ chevre & caramelized onions.

Easy dinner: Wrap w/ Prosciutto. Served on Mesculin greens w/ balsamic reduction.
