fuzzy things by Porter Hovey

Photographer Porter Hovey's, "Floating Statue," as a part of his blog Porter Polaroid Project." The hazy light and quality creates a feeling of warmth. Like a nap in the sun. You wake slightly disoriented, seeing spots. Today Polaroid film is an endangered species and a struggling art. I've heard of people buying all that they can and storing it in cool cellars. Digital takes the upper hand.

It is beautiful stuff.

And it is so sad that film, all film, is becoming so hard to come by. Just basic film has risen in prices, most likely from not being used as much, but there is a beauty about it- about the mystery involved and the suspense. But times are for instant gratification such as texts instead of phone calls or letters and not even the minute for a Polaroid is short enough.
