Tokyo Capsule Apartments

There is a gorgeous little feature in the New York Times discussing the imminent destruction of the Nakagin Capsule Tower. Designed by Kisho Kurowawa, the building is a rare survivor of Tokyo's Metabolist architectural era (1970's). The 140 units are factory-made apartments with compact built-in furniture and a large port hole, which overlooks a busy highway.
