Bloomingdales Registry: The Big Brown Bag App

Oh, I wish Bloomingdales had pushed their Big Brown Bag App last year when I was planning my wedding! All you need is your phone to scan items directly into your home-building plan. Read more at Martha Stewart Weddings.

Perfect Pair

If we had decided on a small wedding, I would have chosen a cake like this, paired with vases of buds like those. So sweet, friendly and confident. What color would you do for the bridemaid dresses? I'd say canary, with polka dot ties for the groomsmen in canary or orange. (Brooklyn Bride)

Haviland China

I tend to overthink things. Among those: which china design is right for my wedding registry? Haviland in light blue is a suggested -must have- on Martha Stewart The Bride's Guide wedding blog. I wouldn't typically select something with gold rims, but I must admit- it did catch my eye! The colors are a little Marie Antoinette, no? Available at Gearys Beverly Hills.

Ever After Honey Moon

I'm smitten with Ever After Honey Moon blog.  Though we've already booked our honey moon, the site doubles as a great vacation idea source! Albeit new, it's already full of real couples and stunning photos:)

A peek before the ceremony?

I've been having few lightbulb moments here and there, with my wedding planning. After several hours of tweaking with my best friend from home (remote editing!), I placed the order for my save-the-dates last night.

I'm still sorting out whether or not we will do formal photos before or after the ceremony. I'd love to enjoy socializing (and eating the delicious appetizers I've selected!) with my guests during the cocktail hour, however, it would be amazing to keep the tradition.

I love this photo from Gina Leigh.

Guest Book Alternative

I love going to brunch at Meade's, for their bottomless bloody mary and mimosas, but also, because they have games to play while you sip and nosh. Here's a brilliant alternative to a wedding guestbook: have your guests sign Jenga blocks! This is definitely the route I'm going. We can have brunch at home, with our personalized Jenga game!

Country Wedding Idea

I'm waiting (with baited breath) for my first issue of Martha Stewart Weddings to come. Interim, I'm enjoying the daily emails with tips. I love this place setting with grains tied in a sweet grey bow. View more country wedding ideas here.

cafe afternoon

I popped out of the office earlier to pick-up lunch and couldn't help but admit that the weather is ideal for sipping cappucinos at a local cafe. Perhaps this Saturday will offer the same climate? I'm anxious to settle in with my iPad and the top-rated wedding apps!

Take-Away Center Pieces

Although I haven't found my wedding venue yet, I'm beginning to envision flowers, table settings and favors. Among my budget-saver ideas: take-away center pieces. By designing my tables with in this way, my centerpieces will be multitasking as decor and gifts (not to mention helping the hired vendor with clean-up ;)

Brainstorm: Bridal Headpieces

I revisted My Big Fat Greek Wedding last night. It's hard to imagine embracing the poofy monstrosity that Tulla did on her big day (kudos to her humor, "I look like a snow beast"). I've been attempting to envision my dress, and my headpiece. Ban.do has some pretty fantastic designs, which offer a more modern interpretation of the veil.

Woodsy Wedding

Albeit a bit too 'wild' for my flavor, I love the nostalgia stirred up over my days teaching kids to swim at summer camp. View more on this wedding in the woods: here.

Something Blue

Whilst perusing The Knot, I stumbled across a feature on following some of the queues from The Royal Wedding, among those: keeping some traditions. These could be my Something Blue.

Simple + Beautiful Bride

Isn't she lovely? Where does one even begin in deciding on the dress you will wear on your wedding day? I've been told by a few ladies, "you just know, when you see it." I'm very resistant to any sort of poof. However, this understated poof with ribbon garter and long hair flowing is stunning.

Rustic Wine Tote

I'm leaning towards a country wedding, which I know is a bit of an oxymoron, considering I get fidgetly when leaving the island of Manhattan. I love this rustic wine carrier. Wouldn't it be great to place on each table with the chosen bottles of wine for the event?

Save the Date Pencils

Aren't these Save the Date Pencils from Martha Stewart Weddings clever? We're committed to magnets with custom photos, but perhaps a version of these bundles for wedding favors?

Celine Kim Photography

I should go ahead and come clean now: I'm going to be writing quite a bit more on weddings, engagements and all the glitter around it-- as I begin to plan my own. This is an exciting time! Celine Kim has some pretty sweet wedding and engagement sets in her online portfolio. Below is couple in love: Kate and Matt.

gold cake

While I'm more of a cheese course than a cake girl- I will have this cake and eat it too. Isn't it spectacular?
