We're AOK in Zone A!

"Where did you evacuate to?"

"We stayed."

We hunkered down in our Zone A apartment building with lots of wine, good food and neighbors. When the storm cleared, we enjoyed surveying the damage with plastic cups of celebratory mimosas. Among my favorite details: the staff at Jubilee Marketplace on John St slept in the bodega, so they could open in the morning. They sold out of salad and Amy's Organic Soup. These are my people.

Are you ready?

Irene is headed our way! We're stocking up on the essentials: bottled water, wine, beef jerky and kibbles. Just in case we need to swim, Pilgrim got a life vest.

There's a hurricane coming.

Are you ready for the hurricane? These cuties are on par with the feeling today- cozy up in bed, wait out the rain and have a little french onion soup. I'm getting a little concerned that it'd be a good time to stock up on the essentials: batteries, red wine, matches and kibbles.
