Vintage Arrows

Have you ever used a bow and arrow? It's a bit tricky! I learned in summer camps as a kiddo! Wouldn't these vintage arrows be a fun decor focus in your home or office? And you'd be squared away should the zombie apocalypse become a thing. Purchase in sets of (5) at GallivantingGirls' etsy shop.

Rotary Phone

While deciding on a new desk, my husband poked fun at the advertisement using an old school rotary phone as prop. I believe there is still a functioning (and used) yellow one in my Grandfather's house. Without surprise, Etsy has a bevy to choose from. I like this bubble gum pink model (which the seller has noted that is working!). I'm a little tempted to purchase and place it on the new desk:)

Emerald Green Picks

Color maven Pantone has named Emerald green the Color of the Year for 2013. I must admit, I saw this coming with scads of Emerald on the shelves of clothing stores on Champs Elysses Paris in October! Here are my top picks for this lovely shade:

Lucite Gem Necklace from ShopNestled.

Crochet Boot Cuffs from LumiStyle.

Silk Blouse with bow neckline from vintage shop Pintuck Style.

Victorian Deco Nouveau Bracelet from Willow Bloom.

Vintage wedding cake bowl from All the Best Vintage.

Vintage Mink Cape

I...love...fur. I know this is a bit of a paradox, as I am an avid lover and supporter of the treatment of Pugs, and other furry creatures. I have been aching to add a new piece to my wardrobe. A cape in particular. I found this great shop on Etsy: Murmaids. The pieces look stunning and in mint quality. I treated myself to this deep honey Mink cape. I'm excited for it to arrive and the weather to cool down!

Vintage Lingerie

Jill Salen's Vintage Lingerie book would make a great addition your bedside table, or coffee table, if that's your idea of a conversation starter. I am curious to peek inside to see this historical sampling of pieces dated from 1850-1970. Find it at Indigo.

Do you watch MadMen? The episode this past Sunday focused on the team winning an account with Jaguar. Aren't these vintage ads fascinating? Check out the historical facts on Gothamist's recap.

Ads from Real MadMen

Tonight is the highly anticipated premiere of MadMen Season 5! I am making a slow cooked pot roast and bourbon-based cocktails for our little family to enjoy while viewing. In the continued spirit, I thought I'd share these ads from 'real MadMen'. View the full set here.

Vintage Fox

I love furry critters...but I admit also love wearing fur. My grandmother offered me her mink scarf from the 1940's, noting "I had the feet removed." I politely declined, but I wonder: would you wear this? I found these...they are stunning.

colored goblets + compotes

If you're keen on vintage glasses, but not the pricetag- these colorful goblets and compotes are a good fit. (I have a tendency to break things!) At $35 for a set of four, they are a lovely way to brighten up your dinner table. (Horchow).

Vintage Osterizer

My mother had this exact blender when I was a child. I loved it: going between chop, puree, mix. Do you remember your mum's old stuff? Psst....you can still find these puppies on ebay.  (Images: A Desert Fete).

John Pfahl Photography

My unfaultering desire for a little warm air and vacation is hosting my affection for photographer John Pfahl's Altered Landscapes series. The images are vintage, circa 1974-78. View more from the New York-based artist at his webpage.
