If you haven't gotten to the end of the Q line, I suggest taking an afternoon. I've shopped cheap groceries, tasted amazing food and sipped vodka, neat. New York Magazine breaks down the culture of Brighton Beach:
The biggest mistake once can make in Brighton Beach is to assume that you're seeing a passable facsimile of Russia...What you're actually seeing is a (likely Ukrainian) Jewish immigrant's idea of what an American's idea of Russia might be.

Hungry? Try these incredible potato dumplings (buttery, with sauteed onions!) or borscht!
What they don't have on in the article: shops and shops of fur-lined boots. Incredibly warm, a fashion must that I discovered while visiting Ukraine...
