JR Art
JR creates pervasive spreads on buildings in Parisian slums, the Middle East, broken bridges in Africa and Brazil. Denizens of the exhibit communities, of whom often live with the bare necessities, discover something completely unnecessary but wonderful in their habitat. As well, the folks in these communities become part of the process as models and contributing artists.
After local exhibitions, the images are transported to London, New York, Berlin or Amsterdam. JR earned the 2011 TED Prize. View more of his spectacular works here.
