Zwelethu Mthethwa captures images of people in their homes in his native South Africa. The subjects capture themes of environment, social issues and poverty which stem from the wake of the apartheid. Mthethwa notes that by photographing individuals in their most comfortable environment, his photos communicate a certain intimacy and peacefulness. His project is currently on display at New York's Studio Museum.
