I don't know how she does it.

This trailer reminds me of some of the moms I work with! Doesn't it look like a great flick to enjoy some buttery popcorn with?

Plaited Shopper

Zara hit it on the nail with the Plaited Shopper. Isn't it stunning? Love.

Barrettes

Were you born in the 80's? I worse these plastic animal barrettes as a child- and I loved them!

We're AOK in Zone A!

"Where did you evacuate to?"

"We stayed."

We hunkered down in our Zone A apartment building with lots of wine, good food and neighbors. When the storm cleared, we enjoyed surveying the damage with plastic cups of celebratory mimosas. Among my favorite details: the staff at Jubilee Marketplace on John St slept in the bodega, so they could open in the morning. They sold out of salad and Amy's Organic Soup. These are my people.

Are you ready?

Irene is headed our way! We're stocking up on the essentials: bottled water, wine, beef jerky and kibbles. Just in case we need to swim, Pilgrim got a life vest.

Rustic Ontario Wedding

Isn't this Rustic Ontario wedding a stellar balance between humble and stunning? View more details and images at Ruffled.

Virginia Johnson

I'm smitten with these pretty watercolor shawls from Virginia Johnson. They'd be the perfect pop of color with white jeans and camel sandals.

(Thanks Oh Joy!)

There's a hurricane coming.

Are you ready for the hurricane? These cuties are on par with the feeling today- cozy up in bed, wait out the rain and have a little french onion soup. I'm getting a little concerned that it'd be a good time to stock up on the essentials: batteries, red wine, matches and kibbles.

Whole Grain Mustard

A cheap thrill for my foody friends! Trader Joe's Whole Grain mustard is mild and superbly textured. I spread it on sandwiches, plop it on cheese+cured meats plates and even use it to craft marinades. I have one in the works now:  whole grain mustard, olive oil, fresh rosemary, cracked green/black peppercorns and cayenne I lugged home from Italy. I'm planning to slather it over lamb this weekend.

This Scarf

It's pretty sexy, no? The buckle is approaching edgy, but just enough equestrian. Find the scarf at SVPPLY.

Wide Draper's Cabinet

We've been shopping around for furniture lately. While we don't need another cabinet, I have to say the Wide Draper's is pretty sexy.

Totem Cups

Even if I hadn't grown up in the Pacific Northwest, I would still love these Totem Mugs. Wouldn't they make a great gift?

Bangles

Bow chica bow wow...bangles from J.Crew. I'd like tan, white and red please.

Cufflinks for your Trader Boyfriend

I'll admit, I judge a man by his cufflinks. These are clever and your trader boyfriend should appreciate them thoroughly. (Via)

Pieces of our Weekend.

We decided to pile our little family into a zip care venture of the city this weekend!  Chris found an amazing dog friendly bed & breakfast in Port Jefferson- The Ransome Inn. We love this little beach town...it's where we're having our wedding!

We played in the grass with the four King Charles spaniels that live at the b&b, tasted wine at Pindar (added some bottles to our collecton!) and scouted out rehearsal dinner restaurants.

For dinner, we decided to sit on the water at Danfords, as there were fireworks, for a Greek festival. We enjoyed a flight of ceviche, crab cakes, jumbo prawns and grilled artichokes.

We rose for our 8:30am breakfast of fresh fruit, cranberry scones and baked eggs with spinach, peppers, cheese and ham. Amazing!

Apparently, this charming set of zombie- attacking- and being overtaken my engaged couple shoot- has gone viral. Congrats to the clever lovebirds and photographer! View the full set of photos here.

cigar+bullet

When a 24kt gold .30 caliber bullet merges with cigar case: you get one ridiculously legitimate pen. This will be the next gift I buy my father.

"Panda-monium"

Here's a delightful video of panda cubs playing. I'm not sure how I missed this in 2006, but I'm glad I stumbled across it today:)

Missoni for Target

I've been gushing over the Missoni for Target collection with a friend at work (for too much of the morning!) View the complete lookbook  and check our the low prices here.

Sweet Potato Tator Tots (homemade!)

I'll be in Long Island this weekend, but I'm looking forward to trying this recipe the following weekend: homemade sweet potato tator tots with Japanese Panko and lemon-Sriracha aioli. (Thank you, Swank Heights)

L.K. Bennett Maddox

I'm madly in love with these turquoise Maddox shoes from L.K. Bennett. (psst....Kate Middleton is a fan of this designer!)

Zanzibar's The Rock

I think I've been a little too wrapped up with vacation daydreaming lately...but can you blame me? Summer weather seems to be fading in the city- and there are temptations like The Rock- a restaurant off Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean.

Scandybars is sure to make you crave something sweet! Check out this sweet new blog! Yummy.

Casa Talia

From designers Marco Giuna and Vivanna Haddad, Casa Talia is a stunning guest house created from caves in Modica, Sicily. I am deeply infatuated with these spaces. I could easily make a life in this home! Functional, simple, subtly sexy. Imagine bottles of red wine, sweaty cheeses and cured meats on platters and good friends and family.
